ADHD Assessment

At Socially Speaking, we provide comprehensive, evidence-informed ADHD assessments for adolescents and young adults.

Our psychologist takes a neuroaffirming approach, looking beyond labels to understand each person’s unique strengths, experiences, challenges and support needs. We want every client to feel heard, respected and actively involved throughout the assessment process.

An assessment can provide greater clarity, a deeper understanding of how your brain works and practical recommendations for everyday life.

Could an ADHD assessment be helpful?

People seek an ADHD assessment for many different reasons. You or your young person may experience:

  • Difficulty starting, organising or completing tasks

  • Challenges with attention, focus or time management

  • Forgetfulness or frequently losing important items

  • Restlessness or a need for ongoing movement and stimulation

  • Impulsive decisions, actions or conversations

  • Feeling easily overwhelmed by competing demands

  • Difficulty regulating emotions

  • Patterns affecting study, work, relationships or daily routines

These experiences can have several possible causes. A comprehensive assessment considers the whole person rather than relying on a checklist or a single test.

What are the costs?

A comprehensive assessment with a Psychologist is $232.99 per hour, and on average it can take between 8-12 hours to complete the assessment and report.

Are you neuro affirming?

At Socially Speaking, we recognise that neurodiversity brings both unique strengths and challenges. We meet each person with curiosity and openness, empowering our clients to understand themselves more deeply, develop new strategies for overcoming challenges, and thrive.

While practical skills and coaching are important, we also address the emotional impact of neurodiversity on self-confidence, self-concept, and self-worth.

Our flexible and inclusive environment ensures everyone feels valued. Together, we can discover meaningful ways to live well with neurodiversity, even during tough times.
